Another snowy day is a great opportunity for me to read some digital ARCs from Edelweiss! I just finished Bonaparte Falls Apart, a hilarious picture book about a young skeleton with a bony problem!
Poor Bonaparte is living up to his name – he just keeps coming apart! When the young, cute skeleton’s bones keep falling off, he worries about how he will manage at school. While his well-meaning friends offer some creative, and hilarious, advice, their solutions are less than successful. Just when the situation looks hopeless, a bone-retrieving dog shows up with the perfect answer to his bony problem!
Adorable and hilarious! This book had me laughing out loud at every page. The story was very humorous and the illustrations of the young monsters and other creepy creatures were very cute. This funny, engaging story will be a hit with many young readers.
This would be a great read aloud around Halloween, but also any time during the year. A possible extension activity would be have students design a solution to Bonaparte’s problem of losing his bones.
